ReqBridge Team User Guide

Purchase, install, activate and use your local-first ReqBridge workspace.

Version 1.1 · 7 September 2026 · Applies to desktop release 20260901-155239 (r3)

1. Quick start

  1. Choose a licence tier on the ReqBridge product page, enter the delivery email, accept the terms and complete Stripe Checkout.
  2. Open the fulfilment email from ALKENS Development. Keep the licence key private and use the secure download link before it expires.
  3. Download the Windows EXE, verify that it came from alkensdevelopment.ch, then run it.
  4. Enter the licence key when requested. Create the first local administrator account and store its password safely.
  5. Sign in and configure your workspace, team and backups.

Important: A licence is confidential. Do not post it in tickets or screenshots. ALKENS Development will never ask you to send your password.

2. Download and installation

System requirements

  • Supported Windows desktop computer.
  • Internet access for purchase, download and online licence confirmation.
  • Write access to the local application-data folder.
  • For team use: trusted local network access between approved devices.

Microsoft Defender SmartScreen

The current paid-beta EXE may display an “unknown app” warning because it is not yet reputation-signed. Confirm that the download came from the official ReqBridge email and the domain alkensdevelopment.ch. In SmartScreen choose More info, verify the app name, then choose Run anyway only when the source is correct. Do not disable SmartScreen globally.

If the download link is expired or has reached its use limit, open Manage account or contact support.

3. Licence activation and first administrator

  1. Paste the complete licence key without changing characters or adding spaces.
  2. Select Verify and activate and keep the app online until confirmation completes.
  3. Enter the administrator name, email address and a strong unique password.
  4. Read and accept the displayed legal notices, then initialize the workspace.

If the app opens directly at Sign in, the installation already contains a local workspace. Sign in with its local administrator or use the documented licence-recovery route. Do not delete or rename application data unless support instructs you to do so.

4. Everyday workspace

Dashboard and global search

The dashboard summarizes live workspace data. Use global search to find and open records across the application; demonstration records are not loaded.

Tickets

Create a ticket with title, type, priority, description and optional assignee, dates, planned effort, actual effort and diagnostic fields. Link it to a Project when the work belongs to a delivery scope. Comments, status and audit history remain attached to the Ticket.

Requirements

Create and refine Requirements, assign ownership, priority, status, planned and actual effort, and connect them to Projects. Linked Requirements can also carry planned and actual cost values.

Projects, budgets and review

The Project page is the central review point for linked Requirements and Tickets. Define the Project budget and currency, review planned versus actual costs and effort, follow timeline values, and use automatic variance and overrun indicators to identify exceptions. Unlinked records remain valid but do not contribute to Project totals.

Chat and reports

Use chat for workspace collaboration and reports to review or export current operational information. Review exported files before sharing them externally.

5. Team users, roles and seats

Open Team to create and manage local users. Enter a name, unique email, temporary password, role, authorization and status. The new user should change the temporary password at first sign-in.

  • Administrator: workspace and user administration.
  • Developer/business user: access according to assigned authorization.
  • Read/Write: may change permitted records.
  • Read-only: views permitted records without editing.

Licensed counted users cannot exceed the purchased seat allowance. If the limit is reached, deactivate an unused counted user or upgrade the subscription. Never share one login between people.

6. Email and external support tickets

An administrator may configure the organization mailbox under the email settings. Use a dedicated mail-client/device password rather than the mailbox’s normal sign-in password when your provider supports it.

Incoming messages can be imported idempotently into tickets. A reply sent from ReqBridge uses the configured support mailbox; a customer reply is associated with the same conversation when its message references are preserved. Treat attachments and links as untrusted and inspect them outside automated workflows.

7. Backups and local-network operation

ReqBridge is local-first. The organization operating the installation is responsible for independent, tested backups. Create backups regularly, store a protected copy on a separate device or approved BeeStation location, and test restoration before relying on it.

Only expose team access on a trusted LAN. Apply Windows updates, firewall controls and device protection. LAN access is not a substitute for an Internet-facing hosted service and should not be exposed directly to the public Internet.

8. Licence states and recovery

  • Active: entitlement confirmed; normal workspace access.
  • Online confirmation required: reconnect and retry licence verification.
  • Recovery only: normal workspace functions remain locked while an administrator replaces or revalidates the licence.
  • Seat limit reached: reduce counted active users or purchase the correct tier.

Use Sign out of recovery to leave a recovery-only session. Licence recovery protects existing workspace data; it does not provide a password bypass.

9. Subscription and account management

Use Manage account to manage the subscription and obtain an eligible replacement download. Annual subscriptions renew automatically under the accepted Terms of Sale. Keep the delivery email accessible.

10. Troubleshooting

Invalid email or password
Confirm the exact local email address and password. Web purchase credentials and local app credentials are separate.
Licence not accepted
Paste the full key, confirm Internet access and retry online verification. Do not shorten the key shown in a preview.
Setup already completed
This local installation already has a workspace. Sign in as its administrator; do not initialize it again.
Download unavailable
The token may be expired or exhausted. Use Manage account or contact support.
Need help
Email support@alkensdevelopment.ch. Include the app version, Windows version, exact error text and reproducible steps, but never a password or full licence key.

11. Security, privacy and beta notice

Credentials and workspace information are processed by the ReqBridge installation under the customer’s control. Payment is handled by Stripe. Licence confirmation and fulfilment require limited server communication. Review the Privacy Notice, Beta EULA and Terms of Sale.

Paid beta: keep verified independent backups and validate ReqBridge for your intended use. No service-level commitment is included unless agreed separately.
